Have I mentioned to you that my husband is not only a super hot firefighter but is also a crossfit trainer? If you don’t know what crossfit is google it, you’ll be amazed.
Anyway, a few of his clients are actually really good friends of mine who end up working out alone and they are always begging me to workout with them. Since having the baby I must admit I’ve been a little intimidated to just jump back in there. It wouldn’t be so bad if I’ve never been in shape before. But I have and I’ll know just how far I’ve fallen.
I’m not scared of what my friends think of my lack of fitness. I’m scared of my husband. I don’t want him to see me like this. (He really doesn’t care but I do). I finally broke through that mental barrier and went in. I’m always amazed at how great I feel while doing the movements and lifting heavy weights. Yeah I’m carrying a good extra 60 pounds of fat but I can always feel the lean machine from within. I feel so STRONG! I was doing so great. I started waking up at 4:30 so that I could go to the gym in the mornings before the girls woke up and I was joining my friends in their crossfit workouts and then….
I caught a cold.
Let me tell you, nothing can make you feel more like a wimp than getting a cold. It started in the roof of my mouth just aching and I got that yucky tired feeling. You know, the kind that pisses you off because you just simply don’t want to be tired. Before I knew it I was suffocating in my snot. My husband’s rule of thumb is that you can keep working out if you just have a head cold but the moment it falls into your chest you should just give it a rest. This sucker moved from the roof of my mouth up to my nose and eyes and through my ears and finally nestle all snuggly in my chest. It morphed every day. It’s been a week and I’m finally on the mend. Poor Penelope is sick now but she’s such a smilie girl she makes me look like an even bigger wimp. Regardless, I’m ready to get back into it.
